On Saturday morning May 20, 2006, the Century 21 Realty Group Hagan Auction Team hosted a bulging crowd of bidders at the Days Inn Convention Center where the demand for prime Nelson County land was absolutely ecstatic! The farm was sold in three rounds of bidding with the use of a Power Point demonstration showing the farm one hour prior and throughout the auction event! The first round bid for the 79.768 acres (selling as a whole farm) was $10,760.00 per acre a total of $858,303.68; second round bid (selling in 3 groups of tracts ranging in size from 26.215 acres to 29.391 acres, was $12,078.46 per acre – a total of $963,474.60; and the third round bidding contest (consisting of 12 tracts selling high bidder choice by the acre), averaged $12,897.02, per acre – a total of $1,028,769.17 for all 12 tracts.
