A large crowd of “bidders and onlookers alike,” gathered on Tuesday evening at the Days Inn in Bardstown, KY  to bid on the Mattingly  Farm – 75.771 acres in 4 tracts – and the Mandell Bankruptcy Farm Auction  – 42.058 acres in 8  tracts. The (2) sales were held inside with the use of a power point presentation to avoid any cool or wet weather for the auction event.
        Volume buyers at the Mattingly Absolute Auction sale was
Charles B. & Karen Dick of Bardstown, buying Tracts 2 & 3 – containing 44.575 acres for $220,646.25, followed by Charles C. & Kristen L. Blincoe of Cox’s Creek, purchasing Tract 4 – containing 19.829 acres for $100,334.74, and  Alburn l. Rooks, of Bardstown, buying tract 1 – containing 11.367 acres for $69,395.54.
       
Volume buyers at the Mandell Bankruptcy Auction sale were Roger A. Ballard, of Bardstown, KY  purchasing Tracts 5, 7, & 8 – containing 11.702 acres in all and house for the total purchase price of $ 130,075.00; followed by James H. Hornback and David M. Hall of Mt. Washington, KY , buying Tracts 1,2,3, & 4 – containing 24.135 acres in all for the total purchase price of $ 97,948.29; and Land-ville, Inc., of Springfield, KY  purchasing Tract 6 –  containing 6.221 acres total for the total purchase price of $ 59,534.97
