Larue County

LaRue County is well known for the birth place of Abraham Lincoln, our 16th president of the United States.

The seat of LaRue County is Hodgenville, established in 1818. There are several other small communities within this county.  The county boasts about the  lovely churches, excellent school system and updated public library, outstanding health care facilities, and an interesting and enthusiastic group of civic clubs.

Joel Ray’s Lincoln Jamboree is a must stop; #1 Country Music Showplace with old fashion Southern country cookin.

In June everyone is getting ready for the LaRue County Fair; with loads of activities and events. During October, come join us in the Lincoln Days Celebration as we celebrate the birth and birthplace of President Abraham Lincoln. You’ll see a great parade, activities, booths, competitions.
